A full day in nature for children and the adults who love them.

We understand that camping is not for everyone.

You might not have the equipment. You may need to sleep in your own bed. Or perhaps a whole weekend away simply isn’t possible.

But you still want your children to experience the freedom of being outdoors.

You want them away from screens, using their imagination, making friends, building things, exploring the woods and remembering that they are allowed to get dirty.

That is why we have created our Woodland Adventure Days.

building a den in the woods

A chance to spend a whole day together on our beautiful 25 acres of meadow and ancient woodland in South West Wales.

No rushing from one activity to the next.

No pressure to do everything.

Just time outside, woodland adventures, creativity, connection and a campfire to finish the day.

What happens during a Woodland Adventure Day?

Every day will be slightly different depending on the weather, the season and what nature gives us to work with.

Activities may include:

  • Building woodland dens
  • Making and decorating walking sticks
  • Simple supervised whittling
  • Woodland crafts
  • Rock painting
  • Flower crowns and nature creations
  • Treasure hunts
  • Exploring the meadow and woodland
  • Campfire time
  • Toasting marshmallows and making s’mores

There will also be plenty of time for children to play, explore and create their own adventures.

Sometimes the best part of being outside is not being told exactly what to do.

A day to enjoy together

Our Woodland Adventure Days are designed for children and the adults who bring them.

The activities are all about spending time together, whether that’s building a den, making a walking stick, following a treasure trail or sitting around the campfire at the end of the day.

This isn’t a drop off event or a childcare service. Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult throughout the day, and we encourage you to join in, make memories and enjoy the adventure alongside them.

Some of the best moments happen when you’re simply exploring the woods together, laughing over a wonky den or discovering something unexpected in nature.

Who are the days for?

Our Woodland Adventure Days are for families who would love more time outdoors but do not necessarily want to attend a full camping weekend.

They are especially lovely for:

  • Children who need space to move and explore
  • Families who find large, busy events overwhelming
  • Home educating families
  • Neurodivergent children and parents
  • Parents who want their children to spend less time on screens
  • Families who want to meet others in a relaxed setting
  • Anyone who wants a simple, joyful day in nature

You do not need to be outdoorsy.

You do not need expensive equipment.

You just need suitable clothing, sensible footwear and a willingness to let the children get a little muddy.

Woodland Adventure Days run on Wednesday 5th August and Wednesday 26th August from 10am until 7pm.

Dogs must be kept under control at all times and owners are responsible for cleaning up after them.

For everyone’s peace of mind, all dogs attending must be covered by suitable third party liability insurance (usually included in pet insurance, or send me a message and i can tell you who we recommend)

Please remember there will be children, other dogs, wildlife and livestock in and around the land, so we ask that dogs are always supervised and managed responsibly.

A few final notes

Our Woodland Adventure Days are relaxed, community focused family events.

They are not childcare sessions or drop off activities.

A responsible adult must remain with their children throughout the day.

We hope you’ll slow down, join in, laugh together and make memories that last far longer than another day spent indoors.
